PRACTICE DAYS INFO

WE WILL BE RUNNING THREE PRACTICE DAYS IN 2011

The aim of these events are to provide a safe riding environment for riders new to off road riding as well as a chance for seasoned riders to practice.

We provide an easy to ride main course for the novice rider with more challenging deviations for the more experienced rider. We also provide a separate track for youths with auto’s and smaller bikes.

Riders can enter on any Solo Motorcycle with off road capabilities, it does not have to be a competition bike. The events consist of multiple 1 hour sessions starting with Adult riders followed by youth riders. If we get enough Junior riders we may provide a separate track.

All events are open to Members and non Members.

Cost is ADULTS £30.00       JUNIOR £20.00       IF PRE-BOOKED

Please add an extra £5.00 if you turn up on the day without pre-booking.

MERCIAN DIRT RIDERS PRACTICE DAY RULES

The following rules apply to both members and non club members for the duration of the event. By participating at our event you agree to abide by the rules set out below.

1) All riders must be physically and mentally fit to enter into the practice event, a disclaimer must be signed before participating in the event.

2) All riders must wear the following protective clothing
a) Crash Helmet.
b) Protective Moto-X boots or similar protective type boots
c) Long sleeve shirt or jersey.
d) Goggles or eye protection
e) Whilst we recommend body armour, knee/elbow pads etc. these are not mandatory.
f) No high visibility jackets to be worn except for Marshalls.

3) Acceptable machines: Any solo motorcycle with off road capabilities, in a safe condition. (We have the right to refuse entry if the bike appears to be unsafe.

4) There is a random noise test at our events and we have a limit of 94dba. If your exhaust becomes too loud during the day we will give you the chance to repair it or ask you to leave.

5) Tyres: all tyres accepted.

6) No engines to be started until 10 minutes before the first session.

7) Course Marking. The course will be marked with barrier tape, BLUE signs and orange arrows on the main track, the optional parts of the track will be marked with RED signs. The course is strictly one way and anyone going the wrong way will be asked to leave immediately. If you find yourself in difficulty or are broken down please ask a Marshall to assist you. You will then be escorted back to the pits.

8) Pits and car park. No riding of bikes in the car park you may ride your bike through the pits area directly to and from the start finish area, max speed 5MPH

9) Rubbish and litter. Please take your rubbish home with you or use the litter bins provided.

10) Unauthorised riding. Anyone found riding someone else’s bikes that has not signed on will be asked to leave along with the bikes owners.

11) End of session. You must leave the track at the end of every session when directed by Marshalls

12) Officials/Marshalls - We will not tolerate abuse of Officials or Marshalls, anyone found to be abusing Officials/Marshalls in any way will be asked to leave immediately.

13) The coloured wrist bands provided must be visible at all times.
